My point is that the endless barage of mindless attacks on Cheney has not resulted in any charges, meaning that the "Cheney is evil" chants by the koolaid drinkers are a useless waste of time - as proven by the lack of Oblahblah and his cronies to pursue him legally.

I doubt Darth Cheney will ever have to answer for the wrongs he's committed, but he wouldn't be the first aristocrat to escape justice in U.S. history.

Instead, his continued public efforts to rewrite historical facts serve as permanent graffitti on the G.O.P.'s stained reputation as national leaders. In the future, if there is any doubt as to the conservative's history making negligence while in control of the government, we need look no further than the former vice president's culpability. We all know it was Cheney who made the important decisions, and Bush was merely the "yes man" to Cheney's behind the scenes work.

I'd suggest reading Valerie Plame's book, but I know you won't. Her husband has also written a book you won't read, so I won't reccomend that one either. Besides the two books, there were public hearings where all present knew she worked covertly for the C.I.A., never recommended her husband for the trip to the highly desirable vacation spot of Niger ( which he made no profit from ), and generally, it's public knowledge that Bushco outed her with the help of the sleazy Novak ( may God rest his errant soul ).

My 401k is just fine. I lost like everyone, but still have more than my Social Security account contains. And if I die now, my family gets it. If you die now, your government gets your social security -- another incentive to induce early death with the Obama, Reid, Pelosi health care assault.

Why can't the government sell us government bonds with a cost of living plus additional small interest rate of return that you can't cash in until the specified retirement date as the alternative to the seizure of cash with no vested interest in that cash, like is the current system, if we must have a government system? Wouldn't that be reasonable? It would be as safe as our government (less every day), it would be your money, and it would function as a safety net. The money did not necessarily have to go into private stocks, though I would like that option for a portion of it. We could leave people the option to continue with the old system, but only dopes would give their money to the government with no claim to that money. Remember, there is no lockbox and Social Security has only IOUs. The answer as to why this patially privatized system isn't acceptable -- to liberals that is not fair that some people have to pay a bigger percent of their income to get the same retirement benefit as those evil rich people.

btco, most of the current economic downturn is a direct result of liberals forcing banks to make loans that were not going to be paid back, with the resulting risk disguised by the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac backing, and subsequent bundling of those toxic loans into mortgage backed securities that then virually all investors ended up buying into to one degree or another. So the economic downturn was government orchestrated, liberal government orchestrated, with Barney Frank and Chris Dodd the supposed overseers who were in fact forcing the banks to make the bad loans and working with Fannie Mae to shift the risk to the populace. It wasn't executive pay that made those bad loans. You've bought into the scapegoat scam that liberal government put out to cover their own irresponsiblity. Government policy caused the economic collapse.

The very likely scenario of Cheney beneffitting AT ALL while in office is the propblem. It doesn't matter what the amount is ( OK...under $50.00 would be different, but I have a hard time believing Cheney would do anything for less than $1000.00 cash ), but that a V.P. would derive ANY benefit while in office. We hold animal control officers to a higher standard than that.

Let's hope Joe Biden can restore decency and respect to the office that Cheney held in such low regard.
