Republicans are seeking "credit where credit is due", demanding all Americans thank George W Bush for the Iraq war, after President Obama formally ended the Iraqi Freedom combat missions. Former National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, who took blame for allowing President Bush to make the false claim in his 2003 State of the Union address, about Iraq trying to purchase uranium from Africa to build a nuclear weapon. In an interview with the New York Times, Hadley demanded Bush be given "credit" for Iraq:

Giving credit to Bush for the Iraq war is like giving credit to someone who stops killing people at random for no relevant purpose.

It is important to recall the voting on the Iraq resolution:
Senate
This is giving credit where credit is due to George W Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney Condolence Rice, Ari Fleisher and the Bush Administration for their Iraq war; for the torture they perpetrated against all decency, for the destruction of so many young American lives, the lives of Iraqis families, and decimating the U.S. economy.
Americans should never forget Republicans deliberately took this country into war under a cloak of deceit, spending and wasting billions of tax dollars as they drove the U.S. economy into massive debt. When Republicans are giving power 'back' they will no doubt, initiate another war with Iran, sending thousands more U.S. soldiers into harm's way, along with billions of dollars from the tax payers' treasury.
Who can ever forget on May 1, 2003, President Bush stood aboard the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and declared to the country and to the world that "Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed." Seven years later President Barack Obama ended U.S. combat missions in Iraq.

That the Bush administration used our military forces to enable the intentional violation of international law is a crime that should not go unpunished.
Two months after the invasion, Bush announced his plan for MEFTA (Middle East Free Trade Agreement). The Administration had employed the services of the Bearing Point Corp. to create the Bearing Point Contract that was intended to replace the Iraq Constitution, and change the economic laws of Iraq. This is an outright, intentional violation of international law, the Hague Regulation, and UN Security Council resolution #1483 (2003) which sought to emphasize that the occupying forces in Iraq should abide by the Hague regulation. "The Bush Administration used the invasion and occupation of Iraq to advance a corporate globalization agenda that is illegal under international law, and has not been chosen by the Iraqi People."
The intent is the total privatization of Iraq's industry, public utilities, media industry, banking industry medical industry, education system, (the list is long) with no provisions for any benefit to the country of Iraq or its people. The U.S. Government paid Bearing Point $250 million dollars to create and manage the contract in 2003. Paul Bremmer implemented the provisions of the contract. Billions were paid by USAID (United States Agency for International Development through Bearing Corp. to the most corrupt subcontractors in the world, including Haliburton and Bechtel for the reconstruction and rebuilding of the Iraqi government. Claims that we are victorious in Iraq for enabling the establishment of a democratic government are a sham since only a government that doesn't interfere with the private corporate takeover of the nation will succeed.
This plan was meet with strong, organized opposition which has delayed the full implementation, but preparations for privatization continue at lightning speed. As a result, only the smallest portion of oil production rights were acquired by the U.S., with the majority going to China, Russia, Japan, Britain, and many others...(so much for Iraqi oil paying for the war.) There is speculation that this was meant as retribution for what the U.S. has done.
Subsequently, in 2007, USAID paid $218 million dollars to the Bearing Corp. for similar services for the reconstruction of Afghanistan and its government. Additional funds for subcontractors are paid by USAID through Bearing Point. The corporation is said to have close ties with the Bush administration and the republican party. Much of the funding for election campaigns is funneled back to republican party candidates which continues the cycle.
NAFTA was signed by the Bush Administration without the oversight or approval of congress. "NAFTA contained 900 pages of one-size-fits-all rules to which each nation was required to conform all of its domestic laws - regardless of whether voters and their democratically-elected representatives had previously rejected the very same policies in Congress, state legislatures or city councils."
"NAFTA requires limits on the safety and inspection of meat sold in our grocery stores; new patent rules that raised medicine prices; constraints on your local government's ability to zone against sprawl or toxic industries; and elimination of preferences for spending your tax dollars on U.S. made products or locally-grown food." These quotes are from the Public citizen dated 9/7/2010.
It is only now that the middle class in America is feeling the detrimental effects of NAFTA. Courtesy of Bush, and our military, MEFTA is the U.S. gift to Iraq. Bush's ultimate goal is to take the agenda to the entire region. All of this info is available on the web, including info about Bearing Point Corp. of Virgina, The Bearing Point Contract, in its entirety, the International Forum on Globalization, and Public Citizens is a consumer advocacy group located in Washington D.C., The entire NAFTA agreement is posted on the web.
It was President Obama's duty to investigate and hold these criminals responsible for what they've done. Using our military to expand a private agenda that violates international law is criminal. In view of the recent "victory" declared by the Obama adminstration with regard to the legality of rendition, one has to question the whether the Bush agenda isn't being perpetuated.
